SAFETY IS: YOUTH VIDEO-POEMS IN AUSTIN, TX SCHOOLS

8 to Abolition Point:
Remove Police from Schools

A workshop and video-poem series that teaches youth about film, poetry, and the legacy of policing in their school district to create, and artistically propose, alternative ways to keep schools safe.

ENGAGEMENT STRATEGY

This project asks audience members to let youth lead conversations about policing in schools; advocate for district money to be spent on youth-informed safety services and programs; and to have this workshop taught in your schools.
