4) Hosting Change Agent Trainings across the city with experienced and budding artist-activists ready to create a more equitable industry.

We Grew Our Leadership
Two of our hardest working team members have joined the leadership team, co-leading the programmatic side of our work and bringing new life and vision to our impact.
Dria and Leia both started at our organization as participants and volunteers and quickly became invaluable to how we work. They’ve each led different aspects of our work this last year and we are lucky to have their brilliant joint leadership carry us forward over this next phase of growth.
We Expanded Our Team
The BAC family keeps getting bigger! Just this year:
Soma Okoye joined as our Social Media & Digital Manager
Sierra Lancaster and Kiana Taylor joined our team as the Artistic Programming Coordinator and Community Engagement Coordinator
Nkosi Cain and Anisah Sabur-Mumin joined our Senior Advisory Council.
We Increased Our Programs
We launched several new programs this year including:
Our Change Agent Training (an evolution of our REP Workshops)
Storytelling For Social Good alongside our partners at Level Forward
Group Play
The “State of the Industry” event
We Supported Our Staff
We’ve only been able to do all of this by taking care of our team. That included finally offering our full time team members Health Insurance and creating a Self Care Fund to ensure that our staff prioritizes their own physical and mental wellness alongside the work.

A Big Year of Impact
Hear directly from our participants
Zaryah Forde, 2022 CRR Scholar
“This CRR Scholarship has provided me with a much-needed space for healing, fellowship, and revival of my artistic spirit. The moments I shared with this brilliant cohort will stay with me for a lifetime, and will continue beyond this scholarship.”
Autumn Angelettie, 2022 Theater of Change Participant
“I left every Theater of Change session feeling refreshed, inspired, and empowered. Listening to people’s direct experiences, knowledge of the law and the system, and artistic and personal perspectives, was so powerful. The discussion-based structure made every class an incredible learning experience.”
Jonathan Andujar, Storytellers Lab Participant
“The Storytellers Lab experience was profound. I’m just thankful that I was able to be part of it. They made us feel safe to speak about our pains, troubles and our happy moments. The process helped me a lot - sharing my story is all I’ve ever wanted. To be heard. They will never know how much that meant to me, words are just not enough.”
Anonymous, Change Agent Training Participant
“The Change Agent Training workshop was an inspirational workshop that reminded me of what theatre is and could be about: creating something through a collaborative process. It reminded me that there are people out there that want to revolutionize the industry and create a different theatre."
